Attention all outdoor sports club – Are you ready to safely re-open?

March 2021

As announced in the recent government plans that outdoor sports facilities are set to re-open on Monday 29th March, now is the time to make sure your facilities are safe and compliant.

As all sports club have been closed during the most recent COVID-19 lockdown, it is possible that harmful levels of Legionella bacteria may have built up in stagnant water systems. This can occur when outlets are not flushed or used regularly, and the water does not flow through the system as intended giving the bacteria opportunity to multiple to dangerous levels. This can lead to Legionnaires disease which in some cases can be fatal.

When re-opening it is permitted that toilet facilities can be accessed but changing rooms remain closed. For these sports facilities it is essential that these toilet facilities are safe and clean for use.

We would urge all facilities to obtain expert advice to ensure that their water systems are safe and compliant.

We can assist with Legionella Risk Assessments, Water SamplingTank Cleaning.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions. We are active members of the Legionella Control Association and we are ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 certified for the services we offer.
